Having had the luxury of not having to earn a paycheck for the last five years dried up with my savings. I was able to finish a degree, but before moving on to an MFA program, I've had to enter the world of the employed--again.
I'm actually enjoying being back. On October 7th, I'll enjoy the first paycheck I've had in a while. Naturally, this will be sucked up into diminishing account balances that have been steadily increasing since my hiatus, including, of course, STUDENT LOANS, which become payable in January. Yikes.
With all the change that's gone on, my writing has been shuffled to the background. Since its enjoyed being front-and-center for so many months, it's become a bit crabby. The "idea box" is stuffed, but the page remains untouched.
It's the writer's dilemma: Time v.s Writing. For the moment, time is winning the battle. But, I see a change in the next round. The clock will be wrestled to the mat, and subdued, for a time. I've got a two day break (I believe they are traditionally called weekends) coming up and I intend to make the most of it.
